Shimano Stradic FI 3000 Spinning Reel

The Shimano Stradic FI 3000 spinning reel is one top quality product. It was selected “Best In Category” at the 2007 ICAST trade show when it was introduced.

Any bass fisherman would love to have this baby in their arsenal. Shimano has a way with designing well engineered products. Line capacity for the Stradic 3000 FI comes in at 230 yds. of 6#, 179 yds. of 8# and 140 yds. of 10#.

If you want to spool it with PowerPro the line capacity is 235 yds. of 10#, 145 yds. of 20 # and 110 yds. of 40#. I prefer PowerPro line myself and I like to use 30# test.

Standard Features on This Reel are:

  • Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement
  • Propulsion Line Management System: Propulsion Spool Lip, SR One-Piece Bail Wire, Power Roller III, Redesigned Bail Trip, S-Arm Cam

Paladin Gear Enhancement – Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement Spinning Using a special cold forged aluminum drive gear and a hardened brass pinion gear.  Shimano claims that this combination of metals is more durable than an all-stainless steel drive train while maintaining smoothness.

Propulsion Line Management – This new spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off of the spool in smaller loops during the cast which means less slap on the stripper guide. This means longer casts with less friction. The Propulsion spool also utilizes a long stroke design to further enhance the casting distance. Furthermore, there is less bouncing of the line on the spool lip like on a standard spinning spool.

Aero Wrap II – Aero Wrap II is a worm gear oscillation system with a specially designed pitch to create optimal oscillation speeds for the Propulsion Spool Lip design. It provides uniform line lay and winding shape to prevent loss of energy during the cast while providing longer casts than other oscillation systems. So, casting distance increases with less effort required.
